The Role
As an experienced Music Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Teaching outstanding Music Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring students excel in both practical and theoretical music.
Designing and delivering a diverse and engaging music curriculum that includes music theory, performance, composition, and music history.
Guiding individual and group performances, helping students refine their vocal, instrumental, and compositional skills.
Collaborating with the music team to continuously improve the curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of all students.
Providing constructive feedback to assess and support student progress, helping them achieve their full potential.
Leading and supporting extracurricular activities, including concerts, music clubs, and ensembles, offering students opportunities to showcase their musical talents.
Mentoring less experienced Music Teachers, sharing your expertise, and contributing to the overall development and direction of the music department.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Music Teacher who is passionate about the subject and dedicated to helping students succeed. You should have:
βοΈ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field.
βοΈ Proven experience teaching music at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a successful track record of student outcomes.
βοΈ Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, composition, and music history.
βοΈ The ability to engage and inspire students, helping them excel in both practical and theoretical music tasks.
βοΈ A creative approach to teaching that makes lessons challenging, enjoyable, and accessible to all students.
βοΈ Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
βοΈ A commitment to contributing to extracurricular activities that enrich the music programme.
βοΈ Leadership or mentoring experience within a music department is highly desirable.
