We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 1 Teacher for a good-rated, 2-form entry school located in Barking and Dagenham, starting September 2025. This is a full-time position. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the needs of Year 1 students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages mutual respect and enthusiasm for learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear development targets.
- Foster students’ independence and creativity, helping them build essential skills for future learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, especially in Year 1.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- A team-oriented approach and a passion for inclusive education.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
